Since 1989 his aim has been achieved in seeing students appear in all aspects of the entertainment industry, with members appearing at world renowned venues such as Wembley Stadium, The London Palladium, The Royal Albert Hall and internationally in Baltimore, Maryland USA. Songtime members have also appeared in 3 Royal Variety Performances, The Queen's Golden Jubilee and "Hey Mr Producer" all in front of Her Majesty The Queen. Mr Chandler has produced over 90 Songtime shows in venues all over London including The Peacock Theatre in the West End. His productions have won numerous awards and have regularly been performed to sell-out audiences. Having Trained at Corona Academy & The Guildford School of Acting, Matthew's professional experience and knowledge of Musical Theatre has helped him in establishing Songtime Theatre Arts as one of the forerunners in theatre training for young people. | |||

Nina trained at Arts Educational in Chiswick. Her West End credits include, Ellen in Miss Saigon - Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Jesus Christ Superstar - Lyceum Theatre, Annette in Saturday Night Fever - London Palladium, Serena/Lambchop in Fame. National tours include Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Rizzo in Grease. Nina recently appeared in A Chorus Line and played Helene in Sweet Charity at The Crucible in Sheffield. Nina’s work with Songtime has included Fame, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and many other shows.
Ryan trained at Bretton Hall / University of Leeds and gained a BA(Hons) in Music Theatre. Upon leaving university Ryan worked for the rights company Josef Weinberger Ltd. And is now Artistic Manager at Songtime Theatre Arts. Whilst training Ryan was musical director for productions of: Little Shop of Horrors, Return to the Forbidden Planet, Moby Dick: The Musical and Jekyll & Hyde. He was President of Bretton Hall Musical Society and produced all their productions including a production of Godspell at Wakefield Theatre Royal. Ryan also directed and produced a sell-out production of Fame and produced/was lighting designer for a production of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown. As a composer Ryan has won acclaim at the National Student Drama Festival with a contemporary piece of music theatre entitled ECIOV. He also acted as co-director and technical supervisor for this production. Ryan has played in orchestras of: Les Miserables School edition, Annie, Bat Boy and many more. Ryan is self-taught on the piano whilst having performed at venues including: South Bank Centre, Disneyland Paris and St. Goerge’s Hall as first trombonist in a brass band. Whilst at Songtime Ryan has musically directed productions of: Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens, High School Musical (on numerous occasions!), Smokey Joe’s Cafe and also The Last Five Years (where he also took the role of director). Ryan was also Musical Director for Songtime's UK amatuer premiere production of Dream girls.
Trained: BA Music, University of Surrey, MA Musical Theatre, Middlesex University. Philip has worked on over 100 stage productions as Musical Director. Highlights include the rare and off-beat Carrie The Musical for Stagedoor Manor, New York. Recent productions include; Snow White (Camberley Theatre), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Questors Theatre), The Cheeky Chappie (Union Theatre), Sunsets and Mornings (The Castle, Wellingborough), The Wizard of Oz (Richmond Theatre), Les Miserables, Nine and Hair (Stagedoor Manor, New York), A Night Under The Stars (Central Hall, Westminster), Bugsy Malone (Richmond Theatre), Romance, Romance, Listen To My Heart and Jekyll and Hyde (Questors Theatre). Composing includes Thirteen Hands and The Good Woman of Schezuan. As a performer Philip has appeared with the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company and Whirligig Theatre Company. He is Musical Supervisor for Songtime Theatre Arts UK and an MD at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
Doug directs and lectures on various Drama school programmes including The Central School of Speech & Drama and The Hurtwood House in Surrey. Recent directing work includes the new musical, Little Women (Walton Playhouse), Annie (Epsom Playhouse) and Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods (Arthur Cottrell Theatre, Kingston-Upon-Thames). Doug began his directing career in New York and for the past six years Doug has been an Associate Director for the prestigious Stagedoor Manor. Last summer Doug was asked to direct the premier schools edition of RENT in co-production with Music Theatre International and Stagedoor Manor and has recently recreated this production at The Beck Theatre, Hayes for Songtime Theatre Arts. Other production credits for Stagedoor Manor include A Little Night Music, The Secret Garden, Blood Brother, Little Shop of Horrors! Grease, The Wiz! Tommy and the New York premier of Honk! In the UK, Doug has directed productions of The Wizard of Oz (Richmond Theatre), Oliver! (The Edinburgh Playhouse), The Sound of Music (Wilde Theatre) R&H’s Cinderella (Hampton Hill Playhouse), Annie (Thorndike Theatre), Me & My Girl and The Boyfriend (Putney Arts). Further directing credits include productions of Orestes, Macbeth, Spring Awakening, Antigone, Equus, The Caucasian Chalk Circle and Machinal for The Hurtwood House. Doug was also involved in the record breaking BBC ‘One Night of Shakespeare’ and directed various productions in association with The Shakespeare Festival (Corn Exchange, Newbury). In addition to his theatre work, Doug is also a guest lecturer on the Postgraduate Education degree at CSSD. As a performer, Doug is the lead singer of The Speakeasy Band!
Matt trained at Reynolds Performing Arts Academy in Bexley. He is originally from the Isle of Wight. He started performing at a very early age and his credits include productions of A Chorus Line (Bobby), Guys and Dolls and Sweet Charity. He has been working for the past five years with John Spillers Pantomimes including a recent run in Peter Pan at The Epsom Playhouse. Other credits include Principle Dancer for Thomson Cruises, With A Smile And A Song, and Snow White. In 2006 Matt co produced his own show ‘With A Smile & A Song’, which is now touring mainstream theatres nationwide. Matt is delighted to be joining Songtime Theatre Arts as Manager to our new schools in the Midlands.
Rachel started dancing at the Landon Jenning school of dance at a very early age she then went on to join songtime in 1990 for the very first production of Annie and the Paul Robeson Theatre. She also appeared in our productions of Aladdin, Grease and Joseph and The Amazing Technicoour Dreamcoat. She then finished herProfessional training at Bridget Espinosa’s London Studio Centre where she was awarded a full scholarship. She made her west end debut in The King & I at the London Palladium, she stayed with production right through till its UK national Tour where she was Childrens director. Rachel is delighted to be back at Songtime this time teaching at the good old blue school.
Lauren trained at Songtime Theatre Arts appearing in numerous productions including, Annie (Title role), Sweet Charity, Guys and Dolls, Calamity Jane, A Chorus Line, Jerry’s Girls, Cabaret and numerous concerts. She continued her training at Doreen Birds and on graduating went straight into a cruise contract for a year, she then appeared in the UK production of 42nd Street and then played one of the Silly Girls in Beauty and The Beast, also for UK productions. She made her professional debut aged 10 as Annie in Bill Kenwrights production of Annie at The Thorndike Theatre in Leatherhead. Lauren is delighted to have joined the teaching faculty at Songtime Theatre Arts
Jaye began her training with the Philomena School OF Dance athen joined Songtime in 2001 she has appeared in numerous productions including Annie & Barnum at Wimbledon Theatre, Fame, The Wizard Of Oz (Dorothy), Summer Holiday (Barbara), Thoroughly Modern Millie(Millie), High School Musical (Sharpay). She has worked professionally in Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs at The Ashcroft Theatre in Croydon and as the title role in Annie at The Leatherhead Theatre. Jaye is currently training at The Millennium Performing Arts where she is currently on a scholarship and will graduate in July 2010.
Charlotte trained professionally at Laine Theatre Arts. Her career started at the age of six when she played Gretal in The Sound Of Music at Sadlers Wells and Hull New Theatre. Charlotte spent six years with the National Youth Music Theatre (Wizard Of Oz, Creation and Oklahoma!) touring the UK, featuring at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, performing for the Royal family at Buckingham Palace and appearing in numerous galas at theatres in London. Whilst in training her theatre credits include Madam Armfeld (A Little Night Music) Diana Morales (A Chorus Line). She was a featured soloist in From The Top, Name of The Game and Moving On (Epsom Playhouse) West End Laine (Aldwych Theatre) and she appeared in 50 Years of Stage and Screen (Palace Theatre). After graduating in 2005 Charlotte made her debut in Me and My Girl UK tour playing the part of Clara Battersby also understudying and playing the part of the Duchess. Charlotte is currently appearing in HAIRSPRAY where she is alternate Tracy Turnblad. | |||
