SUMMER SCHOOL 2010
Epsom Playhouse

Monday 2nd August – Saturday 14th August 2010

THE SHOW
The show has been adapted for young performers - abridged to 60-80 minutes, with music transposed into keys appropriate for young voices. Join Alice’s madcap adventures in Wonderland as she chases the White Rabbit, races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with the Tweedles, raps with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar, and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game! Roles are plentiful, including three Cheshire Cats and dozens of other wonderfully wacky characters. This fast-paced stage adaptation of Alice in Wonderland features updated dialogue and new arrangements of such classic Disney songs as 'I’m Late,' 'The Un-birthday Song' and 'Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.'

WHAT WILL SUMMER SCHOOL INVOLVE?
From Monday 2nd August to Thursday 12th August, the cast will rehearse every weekday from 10.00am to 4.00pm working towards 4 performances of the musical Alice in Wonderland Junior from 13th – 14th August. Children will be immersed in a professional working environment being taught by leading West End and regional theatre artists whilst working alongside others who have a shared passion for musical theatre.

The students will learn vocal techniques, dance and acting skills whilst constantly being geared towards a final performance. All rehearsals and performances will take place at Epsom Playhouse, Ashley Avenue, Epsom KT18 5AL.

The cast are looked after by our licensed chaperones throughout the day. Everyone is required to bring a packed lunch and drinks each day (if the weather is fine, the children are chaperoned to the local park to eat their lunch picnic-style). Parents drop-off and collect their children from the Myers Studio.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The fee for our Summer School is £199.00. This is outstanding value for money and no-where else will children be able to work with practising professionals for a sustained two week period for this amazingly low fee. The fee will cover a minimum of 25 hours training and rehearsals and also covers all venue, insurance and chaperoning costs. The only other costs you may incur will be for small items of costume.
